6 laborers nabbed in Manila drug bust
MANILA, Philippines — Six persons were arrested during a raid on a suspected drug den in Port Area, Manila that yielded P95,200 worth of shabu on Tuesday night.
Agents of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) swooped down on a house along Radial Road 10 in Tondo at around 7:30 p.m.
Arrested during the sting were Romell Pencaliro, 30, the alleged drug den maintainer; Roland Tonog, 48; Jonathan Patino, 27; Andrew Mayor, 27; Ronald Toroba, 39, and Edwardo Arinio, 35.
Christian Frivaldo, who heads the PDEA’s National Capital Region field office, said the suspects worked as laborers at the North Harbor.
Police said the suspects allegedly yielded at least 14 grams of shabu, drug paraphernalia, cell phones and identification cards.
The suspects are being held on charges of violating Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act.
