Calabarzon PNP exec dismissed for drug use

CAMP VICENTE LIM, Laguna, Philippines — An official of the Calabarzon police has been dismissed from the service after he was found positive for drug use.

Lt. Col. Marlou Besoña of the Regional Personnel Holding and Accounting unit was found guilty of grave misconduct, Brig. Gen. Eliseo Cruz, Calabarzon police director, said.

Cruz said Besoña was found positive for drug use during random testing on May 19.

“He was found guilty and meted the penalty of dismissal from the service effective July 12,” Cruz said.

He said a certificate of finality of the decision was issued yesterday after Besoña did not file a motion for reconsideration.
