MANILA, Philippines — Three drug suspects were killed and P1.75 million worth of shabu was confiscated in an anti-narcotics operation in Oas, Albay on Tuesday.

Ramon Mutuc, 44; Jose Maria Arvin Bautista, 28, and Gregorio Garcia Jr. pulled their guns when they sensed they had sold a pack of shabu for P40,000 to undercover agents in Barangay Busac at around 12:45 p.m., Bicol police director Brig. Gen. Jonnel Estomo said.

The suspects were pronounced dead on arrival at the Josefina Belmonte Duran Albay Provincial Hospital.

Aside from 350 grams of shabu worth P1.75 million, a caliber .45 pistol, two .38-caliber revolvers and a motorcycle were recovered from the fatalities.

Meanwhile, 183,500 fully grown marijuana plants with an estimated value of P36.7 million were destroyed in Tinglayan, Kalinga on Tuesday.

Cordillera police director Brig. Gen. Ronald Lee said the marijuana plants were uprooted from nine plantations in Barangays Loccong and Butbut Proper.

Lee said the cultivators of the plantations managed to escape.
