Bong Go aids Davao fire victims
MANILA, Philippines — Sen. Bong Go visited Barangay Matina Aplaya in Davao City on Tuesday to personally comfort and provide aid to fire victims.
A villager died while a school was destroyed in the fire in the village over the weekend.
The senator’s office together with concerned government agencies conducted relief efforts in three evacuation centers.
The team distributed meals, financial assistance, food packs, vitamins, face masks and face shields, among other forms of aid to 161 families.
Select recipients got new pairs of shoes while others were given bicycles. Some beneficiaries received computer tablets for their children’s educational use.
He commended local officials for their efforts to assist the affected families and their untiring service to the city.
Go cited Mayor Sara Duterte-Carpio, Vice Mayor Sebastian Duterte, Rep. Paolo Duterte and barangay captain Nestor Cirunay.
