Ex-Cebu gov Lito Osmeña, 82
CEBU, Philippines — Former Cebu governor Lito Osmeña died in Cebu City on Monday. He was 82.
His family announced his demise on social media, but there was no confirmation on the cause of his death until yesterday.
The Cebu provincial government acknowledged Osmeña as the brains behind ”Ceebom” when the province experienced economic growth. He was governor from 1988 to 1992.
”Beyond his remarkable achievements, the greatest legacy of the former governor is that he made us all truly proud to be Cebuanos,” Cebu Gov. Gwendolyn Garcia said.
Osmeña also served as economic adviser to former president Fidel Ramos. – The Freeman
