Village chief shot dead

LAOAC, Pangasinan, Philippines — A barangay captain was shot dead by motorcycle-riding assailants in this town on Saturday.

Eleseo Eslao, 54, of Barangay Talogtog was on a motorcycle driven by his son when the assailants shot him several times.

The assailants did not harm the victim’s son.

Eslao was declared dead on arrival at the Urdaneta Sacred Heart Hospital due to three gunshots to the body.

Probers have yet to determine the motive for the killing.
