Ex-cop tagged in killings slain

CAMP VICENTE LIM, Laguna, Philippines — A former policeman suspected to be a gun-for-hire was gunned down on Wednesday.

Archie Aceveda, 36, was driving his Honda City when he was shot by unidentified men in another vehicle in Barangay Balagtas, Batangas City, Cpl. Juan Alzate said.

Aceveda was declared dead on arrival at the St. Camillus Hospital.

Alzate said several bullet shells for a caliber .45 pistol and an M16 rifle were recovered at the scene.
