99 repatriated OFWs from Fiji arrive in Davao

Edith Regalado - The Philippine Star

DAVAO CITY , Philippines — Ninety-nine overseas Filipino workers (OFW) who were repatriated  from Fiji arrived in this city on Wednesday on an Indonesian Garuda Airlines flight, city tourism operations chief Generose Tecson said.

Tecson, who also heads the city task force against COVID-19, said the OFWs would undergo a 10-day facility-based quarantine and swab test on the seventh day before they can be allowed to proceed to their destination.

She said the repatriates are from various parts of the country, most of them from Luzon and the Visayas.

Tecson said Garuda Airlines is the first international flight that has landed here since last year.

She said they want to open the city to international flights again in a bid to revive the economy.
