Bong Go sends aid to Quezon City fire victims

MANILA, Philippines — The office of Sen. Bong Go distributed assistance to 50 families whose houses were razed by a fire along E. Rodriguez, Quezon City last week.

Each family received cash, food packs and meals as well as vitamins, face masks and shields from the senator’s staff.

Some received shoes while students got computer tablets for blended learning. Selected residents were given bicycles.

Personnel from the Department of Social Welfare and Development also distributed cash aid to the affected families.

The Department of Trade and Industry and National Housing Authority assessed those eligible for livelihood and housing programs.

Go urged those who need public services, especially health-related concerns, to visit any of the 23 Malasakit Centers in Metro Manila.

There are eight Malasakit Centers in Quezon City.

Go also reiterated his commitment to the modernization of the Bureau of Fire Protection to improve its capabilities.
