Marc Jayson Cayabyab - The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines — An alleged lawyer of the Optical Media Board has been arrested in Naga, Camarines Sur on charges of extortion, the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) said yesterday.

Ferdino Condez was collared during a sting conducted by agents of the NBI-Naga District Office on Wednesday, according to Eric Distor, officer-in-chage of the NBI central office.

Condez reportedly demanded P500,000 from a phone store or the establishment may face closure.

He was arrested after he reportedly received P350,000 from the complainant who agreed to meet him at a hotel in Naga.
