Manila vaccinates 21,129 in one day
MANILA, Philippines — The Manila government on Saturday vaccinated over 21,000 people, the city’s highest so far in one day, according to Mayor Isko Moreno.
In his live address on Facebook yesterday, Moreno said the city’s previous record-high was 16,000 jabs per day.
The local government broke the record when it administered 21,129 COVID-19 vaccines on A1 to A3 priority groups, including senior citizens and those with comorbidities on Saturday.
Moreno thanked the city health department for facilitating the vaccine drive and Manila residents for their willingness to get inoculated.
He assured economic frontliners and essential workers that the city government is ready to vaccinate them once the national government gives the clearance.
