Cops hunt down people who vandalized MRT-3 train
MANILA, Philippines — The Philippine National Police (PNP) is tracking down the people who vandalized a train of the Metro Rail Transit Line 3 (MRT-3) on Wednesday.
PNP chief Gen. Guillermo Eleazar ordered the National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) to conduct a probe and identify those responsible for the incident.
“We will look into the incident at kung malaman natin kung sino ang responsible, we will file charges,” Eleazar told reporters.
The Department of Transportation (DOTr) discovered that an MRT-3 train parked at the Taft Avenue station was vandalized.
DOTr Assistant Secretary Eymard Eje, who is also MRT-3 acting general manager, said they would review closed-circuit television footage for possible identification of the perpetrators.
To prevent another similar incident from happening, Eleazar also directed the NCRPO to beef up police presence in mass rail transit in coordination with security officers of these transportation systems.
