Sinas to get new government post – Año
MANILA, Philippines — Former Philippine National Police (PNP) chief Debold Sinas will have a short vacation as he will be appointed to another post in government, Interior Secretary Eduardo Año said yesterday.
According to Año, President Duterte will give Sinas another position in government.
“Narinig ko nung isang gabi kay Pangulong Duterte na ikaw raw ay bibigyan ng panibagong trabaho. So I wish you good luck,” Año told Sinas.
He lauded Sinas for his service, especially during the last months of his term as PNP chief where he led the police organization during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Año pointed out that the PNP confiscated around P1.7 billion worth of illegal drugs under Sinas’ watch.
Duterte appointed Sinas as PNP chief despite his “mañanita” controversy last year.
