Bar shut down for quarantine breach
MANILA, Philippines — The Makati City government shut down a bar on Wednesday for breaking quarantine protocols.
Business permits and licensing office personnel padlocked Alchemy Bistro Bar along Durban street in Barangay Poblacion and posted a closure order indicating that the establishment violated the city government’s quarantine protocols and did not have a business permit. The order did not specify which quarantine rules the bar violated.
Under City Ordinance 2020-165, bars are prohibited from operating while the city is under quarantine. The ordinance also requires restaurants to enforce limits on seating capacity and liquor served to customers.
City Ordinance 2020-152 bans people from drinking liquor outside their houses during a public health emergency.
