Arms cache seized from Maguindanao murder suspects
MAGUINDANAO, Philippines — Police recovered explosives and various types of firearms from the hideout of two murder suspects in Pandag town on Tuesday.
Two fragmentation grenades, a rifle grenade, a .50-caliber Barrett rifle, an M-79 grenade launcher, gun parts and six .38-caliber revolvers were recovered at the hideout of Joross Guimad and Joemar Sagadingan in Barangay Kabuling, Maj. Esmael Madin of the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group-Maguindanao office said.
The suspects, Joross Guimad and Joemar Sagandingan, managed to escape before law enforcers arrived.
Community leaders said the suspects are henchmen of a drug ring leader known by his alias of Commander Grasscutter, who is also wanted for heinous crimes.
Madin said pursuit operations for the suspects are underway.
