Manila rolls out home vaccination service
MANILA, Philippines — The Manila city government has rolled out its COVID-19 home vaccination service for bedridden residents.
Mayor Isko Moreno said they are committed to make the COVID-19 vaccines available to all Manileños.
“Here in Manila, no one will be left behind. We will go to the houses of those who are bedridden to vaccinate them against the virus,” Moreno said.
As of Sunday, 98 bedridden patients had received their first dose of COVID-19 vaccines in the comfort of their homes.
Moreno said they are expecting more requests for home vaccination service in the coming days.
Last week, the mayor ordered barangay officials to submit the lists of bedridden patients in their areas.
“Those who are sick and cannot go to our vaccination sites are covered by the home service program,” Moreno said.
