2 slain in Pangasinan shooting
UMINGAN, Pangasinan, Philippines — Two persons died while two others were wounded in a shooting incident in this town yesterday morning.
One of the fatalities was identified as Rosemarie Castro, 54, of Barangay Cabalitian, and the other was reportedly one of the two assailants.
Rushed to the hospital for treatment of gunshot wounds were barangay councilman Rolando Caspillan and Sheryl Sepanton.
Reports said that Caspillan was driving a tricycle with his wife on board when two men shot them in Barangay Papallasen.
Caspillan retaliated, hitting one of the assailants, killing him at the scene. His wife was not harmed in the attack.
The other assailant fled.
Castro and Sepanton were hit by stray bullets.
They were taken to different hospitals for treatment, but Castro died while being treated.
