4 UK variant cases recorded in Kalinga

Artemio Dumlao - The Philippine Star

BAGUIO CITY, Philippines – Health authorities have recorded four new cases of the United Kingdom (UK) variant of COVID in Kalinga.

The cases were detected in the towns of Pasil and Rizal as well as in the city of Tabuk on Sunday. These involved three men and a woman, whose samples were  taken and tested last month.

Kalinga health officer Ed Tandingan directed the city and municipal health offices that have jurisdictions over the cases to take necessary steps to prevent the spread of the virus.

The local health offices were ordered to determine if the patients remain on quarantine, and isolate them again if they have been released.

The latest cases brought the number of the UK variant infections in the province to six since the virus was first detected in the country in January.
