Taguig opens more vaccination sites

Ghio Ong - The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines — The Taguig City government has opened two more vaccination centers at the Maharlika Elementary School in Barangay Maharlika and EM Signal Village Elementary School in Barangay Central Signal.

These additional inoculation sites complement the existing mega vaccination hubs at the Lakeshore area in Barangay Lower Bicutan, Vista Mall parking building in Barangay Calzada and RP Cruz Elementary School in Barangay New Lower Bicutan.

The local government started vaccinating on March 31 senior citizens and those with comorbidities listed as A2 and A3, respectively. Medical frontliners or those belonging to A1 category have received their second doses of vaccine.

Taguig is expecting the arrival of COVID-19 vaccines city hall purchased from AstraZeneca, Covovax, Covaxin and Moderna by the third quarter of the year.

Mayor Lino Cayetano said they would open additional vaccination sites to inoculate more residents.

“Vaccination is one of the main components to contain the virus and move forward to the new normal. Taguig is pushing all efforts to strengthen our science-based and expert-approved initiatives,” Cayetano said.

City residents are encouraged to register at TRACE Taguig for vaccination schedule.
