Bulacan enforces curfew, liquor ban

Ramon Efren Lazaro, Ric Sapnu - The Philippine Star

MALOLOS, Philippines — A liquor ban and curfew were imposed in Bulacan from midnight yesterday until April 17 to prevent the spread of COVID-19.

In an executive order, Gov. Daniel Fernando said the curfew is from 11 p.m. to 4 a.m.  Workers with proper documents are exempted.

Fernando requested local government officials, the police, military and other law enforcement agencies to help enforce the liquor ban.

He said border quarantine checkpoints would be set up again aside from the strict implementation of minimum health standards, such as wearing of face masks and face shields.

In Angeles, Pampanga, a curfew from 11 p.m. to 5 a.m. was enforced starting yesterday. Gyms and sports centers were ordered closed for two weeks.
