MANILA, Philippines — The National Museum will reopen its doors to the public almost a year since it stopped operations due to the COVID-19 pandemic, an official announced yesterday.

The National Museum of Fine Arts, National Museum of Anthropology and National Museum of Natural History will accept visitors again starting today.

Jeremy Barns III, director general of the National Museum, said the Planetarium would remain closed.

Barns said they would strictly implement COVID health protocols to protect their employees and visitors.

The number of visitors for each museum will be limited to 100 per session.

The museums will be open from Tuesdays to Sundays, excluding holidays, from 9 a.m. to 12 noon and from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.

Only visitors aged 15 to 65 will be admitted. Persons with disabilities will have access inside the museum buildings.

Visitors need to pre-book their visits online at reservation.nationalmuseum.gov.ph at least one day prior to the tour. They would receive confirmation of reservation through e-mail.

Walk-in visitors will not be entertained. The National Museum imposed a maximum limit of five persons per group.

Visitors are also required to undergo thermal scanning upon entry and fill out health declaration forms.

Everyone should wear a face mask and shield while inside the museum and observe physical distancing measures.

For inquiries, visitors may call (02) 82981100 and (02) 85277889 or e-mail at [email protected].
