Cavite cop killed in gun attack

MANILA, Philippines — A police officer was killed while his father was wounded in a gun attack in Rosario, Cavite on Friday.

Cpl. Jerome Carlo Pamarin, 31, of the Bacoor police died from a gunshot to the head.

His father Jose Edgardo suffered multiple gunshot wounds and remains confined in a hospital.

Witnesses identified the suspects as Antonio Perea, said to be a bodyguard of a town mayor, and his nephew Jhon.

Pamarin and his father were in front of their house in Barangay Ligtong II at around 8:20 p.m. when Perea opened fire.

Perea allegedly took the policeman’s service firearm before he and his nephew escaped.
