Batangas trader wounded, driver killed in ambush

CAMP VICENTE LIM, Laguna , Philippines —  A businessman is in critical condition in a hospital while his driver was killed in an ambush in San Jose, Batangas before dawn yesterday.

Milo Raz, 53, was taken to the Metro San Jose Medical Center for treatment while his driver and aide Virgilio Noel Jr., 40, died at the scene.

Police said the victims were in an Isuzu truck loaded with eggs when they were waylaid in Barangay Banay-Banay at around 2:30 a.m.

Probers are eyeing a grudge or rivalry as the motive for the killing.                                                                   –
