2 hurt in warehouse fire
MANILA, Philippines — Two persons, including a firefighter, were injured when a fire razed a warehouse in Quezon City on Wednesday night.
Fire Officer 1 Clarence Jake Medrano suffered a laceration on his finger. Carlos Anthony Cayme was treated for smoke inhalation, according to the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP).
Arson probers said the fire broke out at the warehouse owned by Dong A Pharma Phil Inc. in Barangay Sangandaan at around 11:15 p.m.
The BFP said the blaze reached fifth alarm and raged for about eight hours before it was put out by firefighters at around 7:29 a.m. yesterday.
A total of 59 fire trucks, 30 from volunteer groups, responded to the scene.
Arson investigators said they have yet to determine the cause of the fire.
Around P5 million worth of property was destroyed by the fire, the BFP said.
