22 more cops catch virus

MANILA, Philippines — Twenty-two more police officers were infected with COVID-19 on Saturday, the Philippine National Police (PNP) reported yesterday.

The new infections brought to 11,015 the total number of COVID-19 cases in the PNP since the start of the pandemic in March last year.

The PNP has yet to provide a breakdown of the new cases.

There were 422 active cases among police personnel. The number of recoveries reached 10,562 after 25 more PNP officers recovered from the disease. The number of fatalities remained at 31.

Police personnel with COVID-like symptoms were advised to coordinate with the PNP Health Service.
