Sara warns vs groups soliciting funds for presidential campaign
DAVAO CITY, Philippines — President Duterte’s daughter, Mayor Sara Duterte-Carpio, yesterday warned the public against individuals said to be soliciting funds for her supposed presidential bid in May 2022.
“Nakarating po sa akin ang balita na may ilang mga individual na humihingi ng pera ngayon sa mga tao kabilang na ang mga negosyante para raw gamitin na campaign funds sa aking pagtakbo bilang presidente,” Carpio said.
“Huwag po kayong magbigay ng pera. Huwag po kayong magpaloko. Wala po silang pahintulot mula sa akin,” she added.
Carpio said such activities are a scam as the money would be used only for the vested interest of those behind it.
“Please do not be fooled by such individuals,” she said, adding that they should be reported to the police.
The mayor has said she is not running for president even as she topped the list of preferred presidential candidates in a recent survey.
