Go aids tricycle drivers in Pasay

MANILA, Philippines — Sen. Bong Go has provided assistance to members of the Tricycle Operators and Drivers Association (TODA) in Pasay City whose livelihood was affected by the pandemic.

Go and his team distributed meals, vitamins, masks and face shields to 1,500 TODA members at the Villamor Air Base Elementary School in Barangay 183 on Tuesday.

“Kung magbabayanihan at magmamalasakit tayo sa ating kapwa, mas mabilis nating malalampasan ang pandemyang ito. Magtutulungan tayo upang mabigyan kayo muli ng maayos na kabuhayan,” he said.

“Hindi kayo pababayaan ng gobyerno. Gagawin po namin ang lahat sa abot ng aming makakaya para makabangon kayong muli,” Go added.

The senator also gave assistance to poor Pasay residents. Selected beneficiaries received new shoes while those who encountered difficulty in commuting were given bicycles.

Go provided computer tablets to poor students for their distance learning.

He also distributed relief items to 259 fire victims at the Rafael Palma Elementary School, also in Pasay.

The activities were conducted in compliance with health and safety protocols against COVID-19.

Go was joined by Pasay Mayor Imelda Calixto-Rubiano, Rep. Antonino Calixto and Quezon City 5th District Rep. Alfred Vargas during the event.
