52 more cops get COVID-19

MANILA, Philippines — The Philippine National Police recorded 52 new COVID-19 cases on Saturday, bringing to 9,809 the total number of PNP personnel who have contracted the disease.

PNP records showed that most of the fresh infections came from the police regional offices, with Metro Manila recording eight, Cordillera and Davao with seven each and Calabarzon with six.

The rest of the COVID-19 cases were from the PNP Central Luzon with four and Eastern Visayas and Bangsamoro with three each.

Ilocos, Western and Central Visayas logged one case each, the PNP said.

The national operational support units recorded 10 COVID-19 cases and the national administrative support unit had one case.

The PNP said total recoveries rose to 9,269 after 25 more police officers survived the disease. The number of fatalities stood at 28. There were 512 active cases.
