IATF allows PRC to hold licensure exams

Sheila Crisostomo - The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines — The Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases (IATF) has allowed the Professional Regulatory Commission (PRC) to conduct licensure examinations from January to March, presidential spokesman Harry Roque announced yesterday.

“The request of the (PRC) to conduct and administer the licensure exams for professionals scheduled for January to March 2021 was approved,” Roque said during a virtual press briefing.

Based on the PRC’s website, three licensure exams are scheduled for January for medical technologists, sanitary engineers and architects.

Meanwhile, 11 licensure exams are set for February for veterinarians, physical and occupational therapists, social workers, real estate consultants, geologists, master plumbers, psychologists, mechanical engineers and plant mechanics.

Seven exams are slated for March for foreign medical professionals, physicians, respiratory therapists, medical technologists, optometrists, ocular pharmacologists and professional teachers.

Several licensure exams were suspended last year due to stricter lockdowns to stem the spread of COVID-19.
