BACOLOD CITY, Philippines — The office of the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) in this city has been closed for a week after five of its employees tested positive for coronavirus disease 2019 or COVID-19.

The employees are assigned at the administrative and clearance section, NBI-Bacolod Renoir Baldovino said, adding the office has 29 personnel including himself.

Although they tested negative for the virus, 20 employees volunteered to undergo home quarantine while those who tested positive were placed in isolation facilities.

Contact tracing is ongoing for those who had contact with the five employees.

The NBI office will be closed until Jan. 22 for disinfection. Office hours will resume on Jan. 25.
