MANILA, Philippines — The most wanted fugitive in Metro Manila was arrested in Parañaque City on Friday after almost five years in hiding.

Ronnie Bolista, 37, was arrested in Barangay San Isidro at around 5:20 p.m., according to Philippine National Police (PNP) chief Gen. Debold Sinas said.

Sinas said tracker teams from the Nothern Police District (NPD) and Regional Intelligence Unit of the Metro Manila police served a warrant for two counts of murder and frustrated murder on Bolista.

The arrest warrant was issued by Malabon City Regional Trial Court Branch 179 Judge Poetro Dabu. No bail was recommended for Bolista’s release.

The suspect is detained at the NPD headquarters in Caloocan City.

Bolista was said to belong to a drug ring in Navotas that executed three of its members in March 2016.

Reports said that Bolista tied the hands of the three men and sealed their mouths with duct tape while his brother stabbed them with a katana.

The bodies of the three men were dumped in Manila Bay. One of the three victims survived by pretending to be dead.
