6 soldiers dead in helicopter crash

COTABATO CITY, Philippines — Three Air Force personnel and three Army soldiers died when their helicopter crashed in Impasugong, Bukidnon at 2 p.m. yesterday, according to police and military sources.

The UH-1H Air Force helicopter was on a resupply mission for the Army’s 403rd Infantry Brigade when the accident occurred.

An Air Force pilot, co-pilot, a crew member and three soldiers are the fatalities, sources from the Army’s 4th Infantry Division and Bukidnon police said.

Search and rescue operations for the seventh passenger are ongoing.
