Rainy weekend in Bicol

Helen Flores - The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines — The tail-end of a frontal system will continue to bring rains over Bicol provinces this weekend, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said yesterday.

The weather system has been dumping rains over Bicol and  Eastern Visayas in the past several days, triggering floods and landslides.

PAGASA said light to moderate to at times heavy rains would persist over Bicol in the next 24 hours.

Meanwhile, light to heavy rains will prevail over Caraga and Northern Mindanao due to easterlies or warm air from the Pacific.

The northeast monsoon will bring cloudy skies with light rains over Cagayan Valley and the Cordillera Administrative Region.

Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rains, also due to the northeast monsoon.

The temperature in Metro Manila may drop to 23 degrees Celsius this weekend, 12 degrees Celsius in Baguio City and 19 to 20 degrees Celsius in Tagaytay City, PAGASA weather forecaster Raymond Ordinario said.

No tropical cyclone is expected to affect the country in the next three days.
