NCRPO condemns Caloocan cop’s murder
MANILA, Philippines — The National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) denounced yesterday the killing of a policeman during an encounter with drug suspects in Caloocan on Tuesday.
NCRPO acting chief Brig. Gen. Vicente Danao Jr. vowed to extend help to the family of Cpl. Dexter Rey Teves, who died in a gunfight with suspects Mark Gil Toreda and Clark Castillo.
Teves’ colleague, Cpl. Rex Abraham Abigan, was wounded.
Toreda was shot dead by S/Sgt. Christopher Anos, who responded to the commotion.
Castillo was nabbed following a brief chase.
Philippine National Police chief Gen. Debold Sinas has conferred the Medal of Bravery on Teves.
Sinas also cited Abigan and Anos for their bravery.
