Cop shot dead in Nueva Ecija

CAMP OLIVAS, Pampanga, Philippines —  A police officer was shot dead in Nueva Ecija on Thursday.

Brig. Gen. Valeriano de Leon, Central Luzon police director, said S/Sgt. Mark Levy Palilio of the San Leonardo police was in front of his store along Maharlika Highway in Barangay Sangitan West, Cabanatuan City when he was attacked by an unidentified motorcycle riding assailant.

In Bulacan, Pat. Patric Ronel Estrella of the Norzagaray police was wounded when he was shot by a drug suspect during a surveillance operation in Barangay Bitungol on Wednesday night.

The suspect, Dengdeng Tumalad, died when he fell into a creek after he jumped out of a police vehicle. – Ramon Efren Lazaro, Ric Sapnu
