28,208 Makati residents get flu shots

Ghio Ong - The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines — The Makati City government has administered free flu and pneumonia vaccines to 28,208 employees and residents, representing 98 percent of the target population, Mayor Abby Binay said yesterday.

From July 6 to Dec. 15, the city government administered the vaccines to 18,965 residents – most of them elderly or immunocompromised – and 9,243 city hall employees and frontliners.

Binay said the city government aims to vaccinate the remaining two percent of the target population by next year.

She called on residents and frontliners to avail themselves of the free immunization by registering at website www.proudmakatizen.com.
