2 foreigners held for kidnap try

Ghio Ong - The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines — Two foreigners were arrested for allegedly trying to kidnap a Taiwanese man in Makati City on Thursday night.

Malaysian man Chan Kea Seng, 36, and Chinese woman Yu Yuqi, 20, along with several others, reportedly forced Sung Chuan-chin, 30, into a van along Escuela street in Barangay Guadalupe Nuevo at around 9:40 p.m., according to the Southern Police District.

Chan works as a translator while Yu is a human resource officer.

Sung broke free and called the attention of bystanders by shouting, but the suspects forced him again into the van.

The bystanders called for police officers from a nearby precinct. The lawmen used their patrol car to block the van and arrested two of the suspects, who face charges of kidnapping and alarm and scandal.
