Army installs new armor division chief

MANILA, Philippines — The Philippine Army announced yesterday the designation of Brig. Gen. Efren Baluyot as the new Armor Division chief.

Army chief Lt. Gen. Cirilito Sobejana led the turnover ceremony held at Camp O’Donnel in Sta. Lucia, Capas, Tarlac last week.

Baluyot replaced Maj. Gen. Robert Dauz who was appointed as Army vice commander.

Army spokesman Col. Ramon Zagala said Baluyot served as the Armor Division’s assistant commander prior to his assumption as chief of the unit.

The Armor Division of the Army has played a role in humanitarian assistance and disaster relief operations during the pandemic and the devastation caused by the recent typhoons.
