Go sends aid for Tanay market vendors

The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines — Sen. Bong Go has reminded market vendors in Tanay, Rizal and the public that they may avail themselves of medical assistance from the nearest Malasakit Centers in their area when the need arises.

On Friday, Go’s office personnel distributed assistance to vendors at the Tanay Gymnasium under strict observance of the health protocols.

In a video message, Go urged the vendors to remain vigilant and comply with health protocols to prevent themselves from contracting the coronavirus disease-2019 or COVID-19.

The Malasakit Center is a one-stop-shop where four government agencies – Department of Social Welfare and Development, Department of Health, Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office and PhilHealth – are placed under one roof for convenient processing of a patient’s medical requirement.

The nearest Malasakit Centers in Tanay are located at the Antipolo City Hospital System Annex IV, Margarito Duavit Memorial Hospital in Binangonan and Bagong Cainta Municipal Hospital in Cainta.

“If hospitals there are unable to serve you, I will personally help you seek medical attention in other hospitals like the Philippine Heart Center. All you have to do is ask and we will help you,” Go said.

The beneficiaries, composed of 800 public market vendors from the Tanay Public Market, were given meals, food packs, masks, face shields and vitamins.

Go also gave away bicycles to select recipients while others received tablets for their children’s online classes.
