P1.4 million shabu seized in Pasay

MANILA, Philippines — Nearly P1.4 million worth of methamphetamine hydrochloride or shabu were seized from two persons in Pasay City on Friday night.

Stephanie Jade Garcia, 22, and Reiner Allan Borja, 25, were arrested in a sting at Borja’s house on C. Jose street in Barangay 159 at around 10:30 p.m., according to a spot report from the Southern Police District.

Police seized three sachets containing around 205.42 grams of shabu, valued at around P1.39 million; marked money and a digital weighing scale were confiscated from the suspects.

2 seniors caught with drugs

In Quezon City, two senior citizens were arrested in a sting in Barangay Damayan at around 2:20 a.m. yesterday.

Reynaldo Panganiban, 62, and Hernando Chico, 60, reportedly accepted P500 from a policeman posing as a buyer for a sachet of shabu, city police chief Brig. Gen. Danilo Macerin said.

Marked money and 25 grams of shabu with a street value of P170,000 were confiscated from the suspects.

Macerin said Panganiban is in the police drug watchlist while Chico is a newly identified drug personality.

The suspects are being held on charges of drug trafficking.
