21 more cops positive for COVID-19

MANILA, Philippines — The number of Philippine National Police (PNP) members who contracted COVID-19 reached 8,266 yesterday.

PNP spokesman Brig. Gen. Ildebrandi Usana said 7,845 or 94.90 percent of the patients have recovered. Twenty-seven died while 394 are still recuperating from the virus in hospitals and quarantine facilities.

The PNP has recorded 21 more COVID-19 cases, according to its latest report.

The regions with new cases are Metro Manila and Caraga, four each; Western Visayas, Eastern Visayas, Bangsamoro Autonomous Region and the Cordilleras, two each; and Calabarzon, Northern Mindanao and Davao, one each.

The two other cases are from various operational support units of the PNP.
