93rd Malasakit Center opens in Lanao Norte

The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines — Sen. Bong Go personally attended the launch of the 93rd Malasakit Center at the Kapatagan Provincial Hospital in Lanao del Norte on Tuesday.

It was the fifth Malasakit Center in northern Mindanao and the second in the province.

Go is the principal author of Republic Act 11463 or the Malasakit Center Act.

The law creates permanent one-stop shops where indigent and financially incapacitated patients can  conveniently apply for medical assistance.

The Malasakit Center brings together in one office relevant government agencies with existing medical assistance programs, including the Department of Health, Department of Social Welfare and Development, PhilHealth and Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office.

It also aims to reduce hospital bills by covering patient services and expenses, such as laboratories, medicine and surgeries.

Handa pong tumulong ang Malasakit Center sa inyong pangangailangang pangkalusugan,” Go said.
