4 dead in Negros road mishap
BACOLOD CITY, Philippines — Four persons died when two cargo trucks collided and caught fire along the highway in Barangay Sagwabanwa in Valladolid, Negros Occidental after midnight yesterday.
It took almost five hours for rescuers to pull out the burned bodies of Wendell Larios, 37, driver of one of the trucks; his brother, Carlo, 26; Dianny Garcia and an unidentified man, according to Capt. Wilfredo Benoman, Valladolid police officer-in-charge.
Police said the gasoline tank of one of the cargo trucks was hit during the collision,which caused the fire.
The accident stalled traffic for five hours and was cleared only at past 5 a.m. yesterday.
