Nurse, teacher die in Negros road mishap

BACOLOD CITY, Philippines — Two persons died in a road accident in Barangay Caduha-an, Cadiz City, Negros Occidental on Friday.

John Eurich Depasupil, 28, a teacher at the Vicente Patricio Memorial Elementary School, and John Paul Ladrillo, a nurse at the Cadiz District Hospital, fell from their motorcycle while overtaking a cargo truck loaded with sugarcane.

The victims were also ran over by the cargo truck.

Ladrillo died at the scene while Depasupil was declared dead on arrival at the Cadiz District Hospital.

Lt. Col. Robert Mansueto, Cadiz City police chief, said the truck driver, Mario Bendevel, 47, was arrested.
