6 BIFF bandits surrender

MAGUINDANAO, Philippines — A sub-leader of the Bangsamoro Islamic Freedom Fighters and five other BIFF bandits surrendered in Maguindanao on Friday.

Badtogan Amino and his followers Rasid Sangkali, Nasrudin Talib, Mohammad Abdul Samad, Khulo Amino and Aladin Gaapar turned themselves in to Lt. Col. Cresencio Sanchez Jr. of the First Mechanized Infantry Battalion, according to Western Mindanao Command chief Lt. Gen. Corleto Vinluan Jr.

Sanchez said the bandits also yielded their weapons and guns.

More than 200 BIFF bandits have surrendered  since 2017.

Maj. Gen. Juvymax Uy, Joint Task Force Central and 6th Infantry Division commander, said they would continue to work with local government units and other stakeholders for the surrender of BIFF members.
