4 dead in Quezon gun attacks

LUCENA CITY , Philippines — Four persons were killed in separate shooting incidents in Quezon on Thursday.

Col. Audie  Madrideo, Quezon police director, said former barangay captain Richard Nitro as well as Selvino and Rico Macaraig, all residents of Tiaong, Quezon, died while being treated at the San Juan Hospital in Batangas.

The two companions of the fatalities were wounded.

Initial investigation showed the victims were having a drinking spree when two unidentified men shot them several times.

In Candelaria town, tricycle driver Alfredo Maranan was shot dead in Barangay Sta. Catalina Sur.

A manhunt for the assailants is ongoing.
