MANILA, Philippines — The intelligence unit of the Cebu City police seized more than a kilo of shabu with an estimated street value of P6.9 million from a former inmate yesterday.

Lt. Col. Wilbert Parilla, deputy city director for operations of the Cebu City police, said Jeanneth Abayan, who was under surveillance for one week, was arrested for illegal drugs in 2015. She was released after her acquittal in October last year.

“We have the names of personalities including her contacts in jail,” Parilla said.

The husband of the suspect is also in jail on drug charges.

In Cavite, police said Alberto Abantao was killed in a drug sting in Barangay Niog 3, Bacoor City yesterday.

On Wednesday, P3.2 million worth of shabu was confiscated from Kadim Dimatingal and Abdulhamid Khalid in a police operation in San Simon, Pampanga. –  Ric Sapnu, The Freeman
