DPWH opens Las Piñas quarantine center
MANILA, Philippines — More rooms are now available for COVID-19 patients in Las Piñas City with the opening of a quarantine facility yesterday.
The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) completed the LIGTAS-3 isolation facility in Barangay Almanza 2, according to the city government.
The DPWH converted 20 shipping containers into a quarantine center with 99 rooms, a nurse area and an X-ray room.
The Las Piñas government partnered with the DPWH for the construction of the COVID-19 facility.
Mayor Imelda Aguilar thanked DPWH Secretary Mark Villar for rushing the completion of the quarantine center.
As of yesterday, Las Piñas recorded 4,896 cases of COVID-19, with 4,605 recoveries and 195 deaths. Barangays Ilaya and Talon 4 remain COVID-free.
