LSI entry in 2 Negros areas suspended
BACOLOD CITY , Philippines — The regional inter-agency task force on coronavirus disease 2019 or COVID-19 in Western Visayas has suspended the entry of locally stranded individuals (LSIs) to Cadiz City and La Castellana, both in Negros Occidental.
The suspension, which took effect yesterday until the end of the month in Cadiz City, will pave the way for the disinfection and decontamination of quarantine facilities in the areas.
The suspension was approved by task force chief Juan Jovian Ingeniero.
In a letter addressed to the task force, the city government of Cadiz requested a two-week moratorium on LSI entry to give them time to prepare their facilities before accommodating a new batch of returning LSIs.
As of yesterday, the city has 79 active cases, 302 recoveries and 13 deaths.
Meanwhile, the suspension of LSI entry in La Castellana starts today and will remain until Nov. 21.
