Magnitude-5 quake jolts Masbate
MANILA, Philippines — A magnitude-5 earthquake jolted the province of Masbate yesterday afternoon, according to the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs).
The quake occurred at 2:35 p.m., with its epicenter located 18 kilometers southeast of Pio V. Corpuz town.
It was felt at Intensity 4 in Pio V. Corpuz and Cataingan, both in Masbate; Almagro and Tagapul-an, both in Samar; Naval, Maripipi, Kawayan and Almeria, all Biliran; Calubian in Leyte, and Medellin in Cebu.
Intensity 3 was felt in Villaba and Tabango in Leyte as well as in Calbayog and Catbalogan in Samar.
